INTRODUCTION :

Pesticides Manufactures & Formulators Association of India (PMFAI) with Basic Chemicals, Pharmaceuticals & Cosmetics Export Promotion Council (Chemexcil) and along with other associations, sponsors and co-sponsors would like you to attend the "International Crop-Science Conference & Exhibition" which will be scheduled on 24-25 January 2008 at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Earlier PMFAI had organised four Asia Pacific Crop-Protection Conference & Exhibition, India in 1997, 1999, 2001, 2003 and the fifth in Bangkok, Thailand under the banner "International Crop-Science Conference & Exhibition". The conference & exhibition at Bangkok was well attended and also all the exhibition stalls were over booked and on suggestions of participants from neighboring countries it was decided to organise the VI International Crop-Science Conference & Exhibition in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia tentatively on 24-25 January 2008.

Why one decides to attend the conference and exhibition ?
The main issue is the content, i.e. "the Theme" of the conference. The "Theme of the conference is well chosen and addresses the key issues on crop care and addresses the key issues on crop care and biotechnology". The experts from agricultural universities, reputed research institutes and industry will address the conference.

In addition, the exhibition will show case the products by the agrochemical manufacturers. It is also a platform for discussing issues on mutual co-operation with each other and provide synergy in their respective business ventures. Person to person dialogue, will assist scientist and business venture to consolidate their scientific advancement in view of changing business scenario.

PMFAI (Pesticides Manufacturers & Formulators Association of India)

The Pesticides Manufacturers & Formulators Association of India, PMFAI, was formed to unite generic industrialists and other manufacturers & formulators for the purpose of increasing agricultural production and competitiveness throughout the country.

The Pesticides Formulators Association of India, (PMFAI) came into existance in the year 1967 and its name was subsequently changed in 1997 to Pesticides Manufacturers & Formulators Association of India (PMFAI). The mission of PMFAI is to promote innovation in formulations technology and environmentally sound use of crop protection / public health products so as to ensure high quality and abundant food and fiber for the growing population in the Indian sub-continent.

Through programs, projects, reports and other activities, the PMFAI seeks to foster cooperation amongst its Members to foment generic manufacturing, product formulation and distribution for the benefit of the country.

Over the years PMFAI has developed cordial relations with the international associations like Thai Agro Business Association (TABA), CHina Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT-CHEM), China Crop Protection Industry Association (CCPIA), Crop Life Asia, OECD, Society of CHemical Industry, UK and FAO.

Chemexcil (Basic Chemicals, Pharmaceuticals & Cosmetics Export Promotion Council, India):
Basic Chemicals, Pharmaceuticals & Cosmetics Export Promotion Council, popularly known as CHEMEXCIL was established in the year 1963 with it's headquarters at Mumbai, with the objective of promoting exports of Dyes and Dye Intermediates, Basic Inorganic & Organic Chemicals, including Agrochemicals & Pesticides, Cosmetics & toiletries, Agarbattis, Essential Oils, Castor Oil, etc. from India to various countries abroad. CHEMEXCIL acts as an interface between Industry and the Government.  It is also one point source of information for sourcing any of the above products from
India.  It assists importers in locating appropriate seller and provide up-to-date statistical data/ market information.

In order to cater to the needs of member-exporters located at various Regions, the CHEMEXCIL has its Regional Offices at Kolkata, Bangalore, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad and New Delhi.


In the honour of - Late Prof. Dr. E. Gaumann and Prof. Dr. E. Muller of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, Zurich, Switzerland by Dr. C. G. Dharne has institued the awards to express gratitude to his mentors.
