Agro-Care,
a global Association representing the independent
post-patent crop protection industry, was founded on April
28, 2008 in
Brussels
,
Belgium
. Agro-Care
initiated operations with member Associations from three
continents, and plans to add new member regions in the near
term.
Agro-Care
fills a void present in discussions at international
organizations, where only the one-sided view of
multinational companies has been heard on issues ranging
from intellectual property to regulatory policies.
Agro-Care arrives at a crucial time in modern
history, when the world faces an imminent food crisis and
the need of farmers to be more cost competitive in their
production of food. The
competition in the marketplace that Agro-Care members
generate reduces the production costs of farmers
dramatically by lowering one of the most important cost
item: crop protection products. Agro-Care
supports the right of generic agrochemical producers to play
a crucial role in offering one of the needed solutions to
face today´s global challenges.
